The FRL was formed in a spirit of cooperation and commitment among all teams to provide the very best summer baseball experience for our players, coaches, fans and communities. A written set of standards is agreed to by all teams who join the league. Below is a partial list of those standards.
● All member teams must have a “home” field where the majority of home games are played. Games may be played at alternate facilities only if home field is unavailable. All efforts will be made to schedule all home games at each member team’s home field.
● Paint/chalk foul lines and batters boxes.
● At least two collegiate-level umpires assigned per game.
● Working scoreboard and operator.
● Working public address and operator (can be the same person as the scoreboard operator).
● Access to press box for public address and scoreboard operator and potential team broadcast personnel, both home and road.
● Internet access in press box wherever possible.
● Live video streaming of games wherever possible (not mandatory but desired).
● Availability of batting practice facility on-site, either on-field or in cages with ready access.
● All league teams must use the same in-game scoring system, as agreed upon by all teams, to ensure accurate standings, statistics and game information. Games must be scored live whenever possible and corrections made within 24 hours of end of each game. At that time statistics will be considered final.
● Cold water in each dugout prior to each team’s arrival at batting practice and maintained by home team during game. This can be in coolers with ice and water or bottled with ice and water.
● The home team will feed each team fed meals after each game OR between games of a double header, with a preference to pre-game meals as well. Mandatory that post-game meals OR between-game meals (in the case of a double header) are supplied to both teams.
● Teams may or may not charge player fees as desired, and individual teams have the right to decide the amount of player fees and method of collection.
● All Home teams are recommended to have a medical staff member on site during games and will have a printed concussion protocol policy available in their dugout. If no medical professional is available, a written plan for action in player injury situations is required so both teams understand procedures.
