The Greeley Grays are a historic baseball team, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, with deep roots in Colorado, emerging from the sugar beet fields. Formed in 1925 by Hispanic workers, the Grays initially played against other teams of farm workers. Their popularity grew, and they became a symbol of unity, with players from diverse backgrounds. The team's legacy extends beyond baseball, representing a significant chapter in the state’s Latino history and serving as a reminder of the power of sports to bring people together. In 2010, 2012 and 2014 the Grays qualified for the NBC World Series tournament, finishing 5th in 2014. The Grays were also inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame archives in Cooperstown, New York on June 30th, 2013.
University High School “Tom Roche” Baseball Field is where the Collegiate Greeley Grays has called home the past three years. The baseball field is located on the west side of Greeley between 65thAve and 16th St. Baseball thrives on 65th Ave with both softball and little league fields surrounding the area.
Tom Roche Field has a space for families to sprawl out and enjoy baseball. There are also bleachers for those who just want to show and watch some great baseball. You can buy nachos, candy, soda, water, yummy hot dogs, and souvenirs at the concession stand. Great opportunity for shaggers to get 25 cents for each foul ball they bring to the concession stand. The ballpark is located at 6525 18th Street in Greeley, Colorado.
Come out and watch some great baseball and help celebrate the Greeley Grays 100th anniversary this summer.
